Production Manager required in Newport - new facility, small team (25), but part of a growing global group.Mon-Thurs8:00am4:30pm,Friday 7:00am1:00pm.
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager toplan, organise, and control production activities to ensure the timely supply of best-value products to global retail and professional customers, while promoting lean manufacturing best practices to improve Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery performance.

Production Manager Key Responsibilities
Deliver weekly production plans within agreed cost and labour targets, using agency labour where required.
Lead departmental objectives and KPIs while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
Drive continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational efficiency across production.
Manage and develop a multi-functional production team.
Support audits (H&S, ISO9001, customer/system) and ensure full compliance.
Support new product introductions, trials, and pre-production runs.
Manage labour costs, stock control, and production data via ERP (Dynamics).
Recommend and support capital investment projects.
Ensure accurate completion of all production and quality documentation.
Maintain high standards of GMP, housekeeping, PPE compliance, and flexibility to meet production demands.
Production Manager Essential Qualifications & Experience
Production Management or Supervisory experience in manufacturing (Packaging/FMCG preferred).
Strong people management skills with experience leading teams of 25+.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools (5S, Kaizen).
Proficient in Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.
Good standard of education (A-level or equivalent) and communication skills.
Desirable
Several years experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
ILM/NVQ Level 36 or professional production management qualification.
Extensive lean/CI experience in Packaging or FMCG.
Key Skills
Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure with high attention to detail.
Self-motivated, team-focused, and able to motivate others.
