Civils & Piling Superintendent
Location: Padeswood, UK
Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civils & Piling Superintendent to join an onshore construction team on a major UK project.
This role involves working within a live operational petrochemical environment, supporting civil and structural construction activities and subcontractor supervision.
⚠️ Requirement: Valid CSCS card required (Gold Level preferred)
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage civil and structural subcontractors as part of the site construction management team
Work within a live operational petrochemical/process plant environment
Report on subcontractor performance (weekly reports and daily coordination meetings)
Promote and enforce strong safety culture across civil subcontractors
Coordinate civil and structural works with other disciplines
Monitor contractor performance against project specifications
Resolve technical queries and support engineering coordination
Enforce project quality standards across all civil works
Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with safe systems of work
Review method statements and risk assessments and ensure site compliance
Monitor contractor manpower and resources to meet project targets
Track progress against programme and support recovery planning where required
Assist planning team with sequencing and programme updates
Support cost monitoring and assessment of additional works
Oversee project documentation, completion, and handover requirements
Establish inspection, monitoring, and hold point systems
Required Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience in civil and structural construction supervision
Experience working on live petrochemical or process plant sites
Technical Experience Required
Piling works
Structural steelwork
Rebar detailing, caging, and formwork
Underground drainage systems
Road construction
Qualifications (Typical / Desirable)
CITB / CTA / City & Guilds / NVQ (or equivalent)
Valid safety and first aid certifications
ECITB Temporary Works (advantageous)
SAF18 qualification (desirable)
