We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker/Cleaner to support the day-to-day operation, cleanliness and security of buildings and facilities.
This is a varied role suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards, has a strong awareness of health and safety, and can provide excellent customer service to members of the public and facility users.
Location: Ferryhill
Type: On-going temporary
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday (20 hours)
Key Responsibilities
* Opening and closing buildings and grounds, including routine and non-routine access arrangements
* Keyholding responsibilities and operation of fire and burglar alarm systems
* Ensuring the security of all premises and their contents
* Providing a high standard of cleaning across all facilities, including:
o Furniture, fixtures and fittings
o Floors and carpets
o Kitchens and sanitary areas
* Carrying out floor maintenance duties including:
o Dust control
o Vacuum cleaning
o Damp mopping
o Scrubbing and buffing
o Carpet shampooing
* Opening and closing for evening meetings when required
* Reporting repairs, damage and maintenance issues promptly
* Receiving deliveries and maintaining stock control records
* Removing rubbish and disposing of waste appropriately
* Following good housekeeping practices and using personal protective equipment provided
* Attending relevant training courses and meetings
* Supporting other services and undertaking additional duties appropriate to the role when required
About You
* Previous cleaning, caretaking or facilities experience
* Good understanding of health and safety procedure
* Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectivel
* Good communication and customer service skill
* A flexible and reliable approach to work
