About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Mould Tool Technician to support our plastics manufacturing operation. This is a practical, hands-on position focused on maintaining, improving and fault-finding injection mould tools to ensure safe operation, high-quality output and minimal production downtime.
The successful Mould Tool Technician will play a key role in preventative maintenance rather than purely reactive breakdown support. You will be trusted to strip, inspect, repair and rebuild tooling to a high mechanical standard.
This Mould Tool Technician role is ideal for someone who enjoys mechanical problem solving, working independently, and taking ownership of tooling performance within a manufacturing setting.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Injection Moulding Tool Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities will include:
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of injection mould tools
Stripping, cleaning, inspecting, repairing and reassembling mould tools
Diagnosing and resolving tooling-related production issues
Supporting tool changeovers and ensuring stable production performance
Accurately recording all work within the maintenance system
Working safely in line with site procedures and safe systems of work
What We’re Looking For
Experience in injection mould tool maintenance or toolmaking support
Strong mechanical skills with the ability to fault-find and problem solve
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently
Experience working within a manufacturing or plastics environment
Comfortable working independently and managing workload effectively
Desirable (but not essential):
Toolmaking or mechanical engineering qualification
Experience working with glass-filled or high-wear materials
Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
