FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced to SHE Advisor t o strengthen their team.
This role will be offered on a temporary basis until 31st October, and will be paid on a day rate basis.

SHE Advisor role:
To promote and maintain a positive Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) culture within the Water Division, ensuring legal compliance, continuous improvement, and safe operations. The role focuses on incident prevention, occupational health, sustainability, risk management, and supporting client-specific SHEQ standards and initiatives.
SHE Advisor responsibilities:
Promote a right-first-time approach and drive continual improvement in SHE performance.
Implement and monitor SHE management systems, ensuring compliance with legislation and client standards.
Conduct internal audits, inspections, and support external audits for accreditation.
Support delivery teams, managers, subcontractors, and staff with SHE guidance and CDM compliance.
Monitor sustainability and environmental risks, embedding sustainable practices.
Analyse incident trends, lead investigations, and ensure effective corrective actions.
Oversee induction, onboarding, and training to ensure competence across the workforce.
Manage occupational health surveillance requirements (e.g. HAVS, Face Fit, Drug & Alcohol testing).
Promote safe driving behaviors and manage Occupational Road Risk.
Produce SHEQ communications, including alerts, briefings, and promotional material.
Support supply chain evaluations and subcontractor SHE compliance.
SHE Advisor requirements:
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
Professional membership of Tech IOSH (or equivalent) with ongoing CPD.
Strong knowledge of SHE legislation, risk management, and best practices.
Experience in Streetworks, excavations, plant/pedestrian interfaces, and CDM regulations.
Proven ability in stakeholder engagement and influencing at management level.
Skilled in using work management systems, Microsoft Office 365, and data analysis/reporting.
Experience working within externally verified management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) and schemes such as Achilles, Safe Contractor, etc.
