We are recruiting Teaching Assistants for two specialist schools in the local area: An SEN school supporting pupils with complex learning needs, autism and communication difficulties. An SEMH school supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, where behaviour support and strong relationships are key. As a Teaching Assistant, you will: Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Assist with differentiated learning activities Help manage behaviour positively and consistently Promote emotional wellbeing, engagement and independence Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams These are hands-on, rewarding roles where patience, resilience and empathy are essential. We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including: Education and childcare Youth work or mentoring Care and support roles Sports coaching Psychology graduates Armed forces or emergency services Anyone with strong transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people Previous SEN or SEMH experience is beneficial but not essential — the right attitude and commitment matter most.
