This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for shaping how data, analytics and insight are used to improve performance, efficiency and customer outcomes.You’ll lead a high-performing team of reporting, analytics and visualisation specialists, working closely with senior stakeholders across Road Operations, Digital, IT and Data Enablement teams. Acting as a trusted partner, you’ll translate complex business challenges into scalable, high-quality data products that deliver measurable value.This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on influence, ensuring data products are prioritised, adopted and continuously improved as the business evolves.What will I be doing?Lead and deliver the data strategy for Road Operations, ensuring data products, analytics and insight directly support commercial performance, operational efficiency and customer outcomes.Act as a senior partner to business and technical stakeholders, translating complex operational needs into scalable, high-quality data products and prioritised delivery plans.Build, lead and develop a high-performing, inclusive team of data, analytics and visualisation professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.Own the end-to-end data product lifecycle, from demand management and delivery through to adoption, optimisation and retirement of low-value products.Drive the effective use of advanced analytics, AI and modern cloud data platforms to improve decision-making and unlock measurable business value.Establish strong data governance, common metrics and self-serve capabilities, ensuring data is trusted, accessible and used consistently across the business.What do I need?Experience leading data, analytics or insight teams within a complex organisation, with a focus on delivering measurable business value.Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify, prioritise and deliver high-impact data-driven opportunities.Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and work collaboratively across multiple teams and functions.The capability to translate complex data and technical concepts into clear, actionable insight for non-technical audiences.Hands-on experience delivering data products using modern cloud platforms and analytics tools (for example Azure, Databricks, Power BI or Tableau).A collaborative and inclusive leadership approach, with curiosity about emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning and how they can be applied responsibly.Additional informationWe’re always looking to recognise and reward our employees for the work they do.
