A leading provider in the water sector are currently recruiting for a Buyer on a full-time, permanent basis (some flexibility to work from home) in Hattersley.
Role - Buyer / Materials Buyer
Type - Permanent
Location - Hattersley
Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 + benefits
Key responsibilities for Buyer / Materials Buyer include and will not be limited to:
Lead procurement activities for multiple projects, ensuring best value, innovation, and cost efficiency.
Support project teams by developing sourcing strategies, managing tenders, and expediting orders to meet timelines.
Build and manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance, compliance, and issue resolution.
Ensure governance and compliance with procurement frameworks, policies, and financial risk controls.
Drive continuous improvement, promoting sustainable procurement and optimising systems and processes.
Report on performance and represent procurement, fostering collaboration, professionalism, and ongoing development.
Key skills and experience required for Buyer / Materials Buyer job applicant and will not be limited to:
Strong communicator and influencer, skilled at building effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
Commercially aware and customer focused, with a solid grasp of cost drivers, risk, and value delivery.
Independent and proactive, representing Procurement confidently while upholding ethical standards.
Technically proficient, experienced with Microsoft Office and familiar with and ethical sourcing practices.
Professionally qualified or developing, ideally CIPS-certified with relevant education and experience in regulated industries.
