Mott MacDonald is seeking an Armed Forces Pathway - Project Manager to join their Energy division. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, develop their skills, and be supported by a buddy from the Mott MacDonald Forces community.
About the Role
The Energy Networks team is looking for a Project Manager to lead projects in a growing portfolio, supporting clients in the transition to decarbonisation in the UK and Europe. The role will involve delivering project scope to time, quality, and cost, building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, and establishing effective communications across the project delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering project scope to time, quality, and cost
* Building and managing strong relationships with senior client representatives and internal stakeholders
* Establishing effective communications across the whole project delivery team
* Taking the lead on problem-solving and decision-making
* Controlling internal and external commercial aspects of the project under the contract arrangements
* Managing risk to the business and to the client
* Working effectively on several projects concurrently to deliver to tight deadlines
Essential Criteria
* Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience: a degree in engineering or project management is beneficial, but equivalent experience gained through military service is highly valued
* Strong communication skills: proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively across ranks and units
* Leadership and project oversight: demonstrated experience in planning, executing, and managing complex missions or projects
* Adaptability and multitasking: ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in dynamic and fast-paced settings
* Team collaboration: skilled in working within diverse, cross-functional teams
* Change and risk management: familiarity with structured approaches to managing change, assessing risks, and maintaining operational readiness
* Decision-making and accountability: comfortable making informed decisions under pressure with a strong sense of responsibility
* Health, safety, and wellbeing focus: commitment to creating and maintaining environments that prioritize safety, wellbeing, and operational integrity
* Mobility and flexibility: willingness and ability to travel to different locations as required

* Relevant PM qualifications (e.g., PMQ, Prince 2)
