As a Finance Officer, you will be joining the Management Accounting Team, providing detailed budgetary support to clinicians, managers, and staff across the organisation. You will gain working knowledge of forecasting and budget planning. We are looking for a flexible, confident, and motivated individual to join the Management Accounts team of Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust, on a permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality support to the Management Accountants.
2. Produce timely, accurate, and relevant monthly Management Accounts, ensuring financial information is processed according to deadlines and procedures, including pre-determined budgetary limits.
3. Manage Directorate monthly accounts, review variances, and maintain regular contact with budget holders to discuss movements, planning, and forecasting. Support skill mix costings and business case costings.
4. Ensure the completion of monthly Trust-wide financial tasks within the team.
5. Utilise various financial systems to collate, analyse, and distribute data, contributing to the Trust’s financial performance framework and statutory returns in line with legal requirements.
6. Liaise with external suppliers and organisations regarding sensitive issues such as payment delays, service charge disputes, and miscoding, advising relevant contacts accordingly.
7. Maintain Trust-wide data and databases related to income and expenditure.
8. Ensure financial information is processed into the finance ledger following procedures and timetables, supporting monthly reporting.
9. Support the annual budget setting process and year-end accounting activities.
