About the Role

We are recruiting for a senior care assistant with deputy responsibilities, working 33 hours per week on day shifts (8am-8pm) on a rota basis.
This is a dual-role position, where you will:
* Lead shifts as a senior care assistant, delivering high-quality, hands‑on care
* Undertake supernumerary deputy manager hours, supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the service
You will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective care delivery while also supporting the leadership and development of the team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing senior experience who is ready to step into a more management-focused position.
Key Responsibilities
Care Delivery
* Provide personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, mobility support)
* Administer or assist with medication in line with policies
* Support residents with meals and nutrition
* Promote dignity, independence, and respect at all times
* Monitor residents’ health and report any changes
* Support moving and handling requirements
Leadership & Deputising
* Lead shifts and supervise a team of care assistants on duty
* Allocate tasks and ensure high standards of care delivery
* Act as a role model and maintain professional standards
* Support the Home Manager with operational oversight during supernumerary hours
* Assist with staff supervision, performance and training
Care Planning & Compliance
* Contribute to the development and review of individual care plans
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date care records
* Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding, CQC, and health & safety requirements
Communication
* Build strong relationships with residents, families, and professionals
* Participate in handovers and team meetings
* Escalate concerns appropriately to management
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has at least 1 year experience in a senior care role, with exposure to leading shifts (essential)
* Has some management or deputy-level experience, or is ready to step up into a deputy role (highly desirable)
* Holds a Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification or equivalent (essential)
* Is flexible and able to work rota-based shifts, including weekends.
* Has strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
* Is compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
* Can confidently support and motivate a team
