Team Leader Childrens Residential Services Ascot £14.75 per hour Shifts: 7am 10pm including 1 sleep-in per week @ £70.50) Purpose of the Role Our client is looking for a compassionate and experienced Team Leader to join a residential service for young people aged 717 with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours. The role supports the day-to-day care and development of residents in a safe, nurturing environment. Key Duties Provide day-to-day care for young people in line with care plans, ensuring high standards of safety and wellbeing. Support the Home Manager in operational duties and uphold excellent childcare practices. Maintain accurate records and contribute to care plans and reports. Attend reviews, planning meetings, and policy discussions as needed. Lead daily routines and delegate tasks to the residential team. Support in household duties (cleaning, cooking, etc.) and promote fun and engagement through activities. Administer medication safely and maintain accurate records. Perform sleep-in duties and respond to emergencies when required. Act as a positive role model and maintain professionalism in all interactions. Participate in training, supervisions, and development activities. Use appropriate physical intervention when necessary, in line with legal and organisational guidance. Fulfil key worker responsibilities, supporting assigned young people through regular one-on-one sessions. Responsibilities Build and maintain positive relationships with families, social workers, and external professionals. Support residents in taking pride in their living environment and encourage independence where appropriate. Demonstrate maturity, assertiveness, and emotional resilience while working under pressure. Help construct and implement individual care plans and attend case-related meetings. Handle administrative tasks such as incident reporting, logs, medication records, and case notes. Expectations Act as a dependable, honest, and professional team member at all times. Treat all residents and staff with dignity and respect. Honour rota commitments and communicate clearly around changes or concerns. Avoid any behaviourinside or outside of workthat may call into question your suitability to work in social care.
