Job Title: CNC Lathe Setter / Programmer
Location: Crewkerne, Somerset
Salary: £12.38 - £16.00 PH DOE
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, day shift (39 hours per week)
Contract Type: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP (subject to interview)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Lathe Setter / Programmer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Crewkerne. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a safe, supportive environment with long-term prospects for the right candidate.
The Job:
* Setting and operating CNC lathes (2, 3, and 4 axis)
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and setup sheets
* Programming CNC machinery using relevant software
* Performing tool changes and adjusting machine settings as needed
* Running test cycles and ensuring components meet quality standards
* Using measuring instruments to verify precision and tolerances
* Identifying and resolving machine issues or defects
* Maintaining equipment and performing basic routine maintenance
* Working collaboratively with the production team to ensure efficient workflow
The Requirements:
* Proven experience setting and/or programming CNC lathes
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Familiarity with different types of CNC controls and software
* Strong attention to detail and quality
* Solid understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods
