A elderly lady from Glanamman requires a PA for 4 hours per week split between Tues & Thurs. Her first language is Welsh, she is happy to converse in both the Welsh and English language.
She requires support with her personal care; she enjoys having a shower, however a Personal Assistant must be mindful that she does not like water over her face. The Personal Assistant should provide a lady a choice of her preferred method of washing for that day (strip wash or shower).
Prescribed creams are to be applied as directed by the Pharmacy if required.
The Personal Assistant should monitor her skin integrity, and any concerns should be reported to the most appropriate health care professional.
She requires support with dressing; carers should allow her choice.
The Personal Assistant should prepare and serve meals and fluids of choice. She requires encouragement to drink enough fluids. At this time of this care and support plan she did not disclose any concerns regarding swallowing, and there are also no known allergies.
The Personal Assistant must ensure that she is wearing her lifeline at all times.
The Personal Assistant must ensure that any used areas are clean and tidy before departure.
The Personal Assistant must ensure that all tasks and hours are documented accurately.
Principal duties and responsibilities
* Supporting with personal care
* Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence
* Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills
* To provide companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation with the employer and providing them with social interaction
* Encouraging the employer to attend appointments
* Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours
* To carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours
* To ensure compliance with Data Protection Act.

* Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.
