A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Nurse (Part One of the Professional Register) to work within the District Nursing teams based within Clackmannanshire and Stirling H&SCP. This post includes treatment room work responsibilities. It is a community nursing position with flexible shift patterns, including weekends.
To apply, it is desirable to have some experience in a community setting. Candidates should possess a range of clinical skills such as wound management, catheter care, venepuncture, Hickman/PICC lines, management of long-term conditions, and palliative/end-of-life care. An understanding of Anticipatory Care Planning is also desirable. You should be capable of handling difficult situations and engaging in challenging conversations, given the nature of the role.
The aim of this post is to focus on prevention, anticipation, and supported self-management to enable individuals to live longer, healthier lives at home or in homely settings. NHS Forth Valley supports lifelong learning. Training will be provided during induction. It is essential to be a good communicator, work well within a team, and be able to work autonomously using your skills and initiative, especially due to lone working in patients’ homes. Knowledge of staff and services across acute care and health and social care partnerships that support patient care is desirable.
IT skills are essential.
The ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery are essential for this position.
