The Role
As an Assistant Transport Planner, you will support the delivery of transport planning inputs for a variety of development projects across residential, commercial, rural, and mixed use schemes. Working alongside senior transport planners, surveyors, planners, and architects, you will gain exposure to the full project cycle and develop strong technical foundations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting in the preparation of Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and supporting documentation
Supporting junction modelling and analysis using industry standard software (training provided where needed)
Contributing to feasibility assessments and access appraisals
Preparing plans, schedules, and diagrams to support planning submissions
Conducting site visits and surveys where required
Liaising with local authorities, clients, and external stakeholders
Supporting senior colleagues on a range of development and infrastructure led projects
About You
The ideal Assistant Transport Planner will be enthusiastic, organised, and eager to grow within a multi disciplinary environment.
Requirements:
Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
Strong analytical and numerical ability
Good written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Some familiarity with transport planning concepts (desirable but not essential)
Full UK driving licence (preferred)
A proactive, motivated approach and willingness to learn
