Job Advert Role Description
The Priory Hospital Preston has established an excellent reputation for offering calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 38 service users. This is due to increase by an additional 12 service users from Autumn 2024.
Priory Hospital Preston have an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Occupational Therapy Team. We are looking to recruit an highly motivated and passionate Occupational Therapist on a part time basis to work on our newly built acute ward to implement and embed the OT provision .
The post holder will work within a wide multi-disciplinary team, and work closely with the Lead Occupational Therapist in developing a comprehensive therapeutic programme for their designated ward. Consequently, a team approach to working is essential, excellent communication skills with both colleagues and patients is essential within this role.
The successful candidate must show excellent skills of independent working, proactivity and organisation. Key aspects of the role will include the facilitation of therapeutic groups, supporting patients via 1:1 sessions, and liaison with community agencies.
Candidates will ideally have 2 years qualified experience and experience of working in a mental health setting although this is not essential for the role. Flexibility is required in this role, hours and pattern of working to be agreed following successful appointment. There may be requirement for occasional weekend working however we do not envisage this to be regular.
