The Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner will work under the supervision of a Clinician while working towards their qualification. They will undertake clinical assessments for Trauma and Orthopaedic patients, with a focus on spinal conditions. Responsibilities include ordering and carrying out investigations and initiating treatments within defined competence and protocols, in collaboration with senior clinicians and the multidisciplinary team.
They will provide leadership and clinical support to nurses in the service, working alongside the multi-disciplinary and senior nursing teams. The successful candidate will rotate through all areas of Trauma and Orthopaedics, working both within a team and independently in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
This is a training/development post; all applicants will start at Band 7, progressing to Band 8a upon successful demonstration of the completion of the relevant qualifications:
* Advanced Practice Post Graduate Diploma
* A portfolio of evidence demonstrating the completion of supervised learning events and the clinical element of the core curriculum outlined in the Multi-Professional Advanced Clinical Practice Framework (HEE 2017).
Key responsibilities include:
* Assessing, examining, investigating, and diagnosing patients within their scope of practice under supervision.
* Providing appropriate treatment, management, referral, or discharge for patients with undifferentiated presentations.
* Receiving referrals from various sources and working within established protocols.
* Participating in multidisciplinary clinics, ward rounds, patient reviews, and team meetings.
* Undertaking clinical skills and providing treatment/advice until competency is achieved, within the scope of practice and protocols.
* Requesting and undertaking diagnostic procedures and investigations related to care plans after completing theoretical and competency assessments.
