Position: Operations Manager

As a Senior Operations Manager at Terex, based in Ballymoney, you'll play a pivotal role in the site providing strong leadership for for the Ballymoney team including; Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Quality, Purchasing, Materials, Health & Safety, Maintenance & Facilities and Training enabling these functions to meet the operations strategy and continue to grow the business.
What you’ll do:
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership and direction to the operations teams.
2. Develop and maintain best practices in HSE awareness and training to achieve the target of Zero Harm.
3. Ensure full compliance of entire team with site policies, procedures and HSE regulations.
4. Develop and maintain best practices and production efficiencies in line with the Materials Processing Operating System using the tools and techniques.
5. Oversee day to day operations of the production facility & financial aspects of the operations in line with budgets and the site P&L, balance sheet and cashflow.
6. Promote a culture of continuous improvement & strive towards best practice world class manufacturing.
7. Improve the capabilities & capacity of the manufacturing unit, achieving Build To Schedule (BTS), On Time Delivery (OTD) & cost targets.
8. Efficiently integrate new products into production and work with external sites on pipeline products.
9. Lead, develop & motivate staff towards the achievement of targets & objectives on an ongoing basis.
10. Act as an integral part of the site’s Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure common understanding of capacity, build schedule and sequence, and supply constraints affecting our schedules.
11. Collate and provide all management reports as requested to both site management and the wider Terex Materials Processing Group.
12. Provide relevant information and detail on an annual basis for the factory budgeting process in conjunction with the Finance.
13. Ensure timely and relevant communication with all required departments in the businesses.
14. Cooperate with the wider Terex Materials Processing Group in relation to the implementation of manufacturing strategies and other relevant duties.
What you’ll bring:
Experience & Qualifications:
15. Whilst a third level qualification is preferred, a proven track record of operational achievement in a manufacturing environment is considered essential.
16. A proven track record of operations experience with a significant part of this served at senior management level.
17. Background of managing a fast-moving high mix low volume manufacturing facility (preferably manufacturing engineering in a business with fabrication/steelwork) including supply chain & quality functions.
18. Experience of and a proven track record of people management in various roles and levels including; employee development, employee relations, performance management and change management
19. A strong motivator with excellent communication skills, you will be fully conversant on lean principles and have demonstrated the ability to apply lean techniques in your career to date.
20. Proven track record of improvement projects implementation
21. Proven track record of consistently meeting financial targets.
