An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role requires overseeing credit-related activities, managing risk, developing and implementing credit policies, and leading the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills, as they will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the lead contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims promptly, assist in negotiations for renewal terms,
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information to the senior team on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports,
* Manage cash collection for all Group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and adhered to,
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
* Handle credit applications and provision of PODs,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Manage litigation, insolvency practitioners, and pursue claims,
* Set and manage credit policies and credit notes,
* Assess risks for existing accounts and new credit applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships with Credit Control, senior management, and other departments,
* Review Terms and Conditions for sales,
* Visit customers and company sites as needed,
* Participate in company profit share bonus (dependent on performance),
