Overview
IPS - PBS industrial placement - Long Term Storage Associate role at Roche. This is an office-based placement focused on understanding clinical trial development and patients biosample and data management within Pharma Biosample Services (PBS). The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams supporting biosample and biomarker strategies to translate patient samples into new medicines. This placement is located in Pharma Biosample Services (PBS) within the Pharma Development (PD) organization and is based at the Welwyn Garden City office. The role is not laboratory-based.
Responsibilities
* Management of long-term storage (LTS) requests and collaboration with Roche global requesters, PBS colleagues and external storage partners.
* Explain the LTS process to requesters and provide relevant documentation.
* Ensure appropriate templates are used for the setup and import of sample data.
* Review requests and clarify details when required.
* Inform requesters of sample storage locations for sample shipment.
* Ensure correct sample and study data standards are linked to stored samples.
* Resolve queries and improve processes analyzing issue trends using a centralized issue log.
* Optionally contribute to Welwyn site-wide events and projects (e.g., Wellbeing, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion).
Your profile
You should be an undergraduate in your second year of a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences. You should thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment with accountability for your own contributions and development. You should be interested in understanding and applying project management principles, clinical trial patient biosample collection, and ethical data use to drive decision making. You should be resourceful and flexible in problem solving and collaborative work, with a focus on keeping all stakeholders informed. Strong planning and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities are required, along with professionalism, reliability, collaboration and a team-oriented attitude.
