Citizens Advice offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. Through our national network of charities, we give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward whoever they are, and whatever their problem. Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group New Member Opportunities We are a charity committed to supporting everyone in societywhoever you are, whatever your situation. Every year, we provide free, independent, and expert advice to millions of people on a wide range of issues. This gives us a unique insight into the challenges facing communities across the countryan insight that is valued by policymakers, charities, and businesses alike. We re now seeking two new EDI practitioners to join our Equity Advisory Group. We're looking for individuals who are passionate about equity and share our values. You should bring expertise or experience in advancing equity within complex systems, and have a strong understanding of EDI principlesparticularly in areas such as social justice, relevant legislation, and participatory approaches to change. We are especially interested in hearing from people with experience in anti-racism and disability equity. As a member of the Equity Advisory Group, you will: Provide expert advice and insight on EDI matters to help shape our strategic direction Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of our organisation s approach to EDI, including key goals and priorities Support our work to remain compliant with legislation and aligned with EDI best practices Help ensure our organisation and services are inclusive, equitable, and diverse This is an exciting opportunity to help influence how one of the country s most impactful charities embeds equity at every level. The Citizens Advice service is made up of our national organisation, Citizens Advice, and 239 local Citizens Advice, all independent registered charities. Our service provides advice on a range of issues - including benefits, debt, discrimination, energy, housing, immigration and work. In 2024 to 2025, we helped 2.71 million people - by phone, email, webchat or in person. Our website had over 44 million visits and 60.7 million page views. Our Witness Service supported 79,000 witnesses in courts and we also gave pension guidance to people aged over 50. Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is of strategic importance within the organisation and recognised as integral to all we do as a service. Central to pursuing our EDI mission is building diverse and inclusive teams in which everyone has a sense of belonging. We believe inclusion is a social justice issue - a principle that underpins our all EDI work. To that end, we particularly welcome applications from people we would like to see better represented in our organisation and sector - people of colour, LGBTQ people and disabled people. We follow the social model of disability. We will offer an interview to disabled candidates who indicate they wish their application to be considered under our Disability Confident Interview Commitment where they meet our selection criteria in their application.
