IT Support Helpdesk Engineer Cookstown, Northern Ireland (Office-Based Only) £30,000 £35,000 Training Allowance Please note: This is a fully office-based position. Remote or hybrid working is not available. Applicants must be based in Northern Ireland and able to commute daily to our Cookstown office. Overview Enhance IT Systems Ltd is seeking an experienced and ambitiousIT Support Helpdesk Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone witha minimum of 2 years' experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment who is confident working across multiple client infrastructures, with solid hands-on skills inMicrosoft 365 tenant administration, endpoint management, and network troubleshooting. You'll be a key technical escalation point, contribute to process improvement, and play an integral part in delivering high-quality service to our clients. Key Responsibilities Provide expert2nd and 3rd line technical support via the helpdesk across a wide range of client environments. Manage and supportMicrosoft 365 tenant services, including administration of M365, Intune, SharePoint, Security Centre, and Compliance Centre. Install, configure, and supportWindows and macOS desktop environments. Troubleshoot and resolveVPN and secure remote access issues. Analyse and resolve issues related toDNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and other core networking protocols. Maintain and support endpoint security tools, email filtering systems, and cloud backup platforms. Carry outuser onboarding/offboarding, group policy adjustments, and Active Directory/Azure AD administration. Monitor and manage alerting systems, escalating critical issues proactively. Document all work clearly and consistently in the ticketing system and contribute to internal knowledge base articles. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers as needed. Assist with client site visits for project work or escalations, when required. Contribute to process reviews and suggest improvements in tools, documentation, and workflows. What Were Looking For At least 2 years' experience working in a Level 2 or Level 3 support role within an MSP. Strong hands-on experience withMicrosoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Intune, Defender, and Teams. Proficiency inWindows and macOS operating systems. Solid networking knowledge, includingfirewall basics, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs. Familiarity withremote monitoring and management (RMM) tools, PSA/ticketing systems, and support best practices. Comfortable handling multiple client environments and managing priorities under pressure. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical users. A strongdesire to take ownership, drive continuous improvement, and grow professionally. Desirable Skills & Qualifications Microsoft certifications (M365, Azure, or equivalent) or a strong interest in obtaining them we will fully fund your training. Experience with cloud-centric platforms, backup solutions, and security-focused tooling (e.g., EDR, MFA, mail filtering). Familiarity withUbiquiti UniFi networking platforms (desirable but not essential). Experience with Autotask, Kaseya, or other MSP tooling is a plus. A relevant IT degree or equivalent professional experience.
