We are currently recruiting for a Senior Sous Chef to join our team at one of our busy conference venues in Warwick CV32 6RN.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chef ready to take the next step in their career within a professional, fresh food-led contract catering environment. Working alongside our Chef Manager and Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of a busy kitchen operation that delivers high-quality food across breakfast, lunch, dinner, hospitality, private dining, and large-scale events.

No two days are the same. From delivering busy breakfast and lunch services for up to 350 guests daily, to overseeing elegant private dining for 180 guests and supporting outdoor catering experiences including BBQs, homemade pizzas, and hog roasts, you’ll be part of a talented team that takes pride in creativity, consistency, and exceptional service.

We’re looking for a confident leader with a strong fresh food background, excellent organisational skills, and a genuine passion for developing people and producing innovative dishes from around the world. Guest interaction is an important part of our operation, so you’ll need to be personable, approachable, and professional at all times.

As our Senior Sous Chef, you will:

1. Support the Chef Manager and Head Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen operation across all food services.
2. Lead and motivate a brigade of chefs, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and service at all times.
3. Take responsibility for managing and running breakfast, lunch, dinner, hospitality, and event catering services.
4. Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of fresh food using high-quality seasonal ingredients.
5. Deliver innovative and diverse menus inspired by cuisines from around the world.
6. Assist with private dining events, conferences, formal dinners, outdoor catering, BBQs, hog roasts, and pizza events.
7. Support high-volume food production while maintaining consistency, creativity, and portion control.
8. Work closely with front-of-house teams to ensure a seamless and exceptional customer experience.
9. Maintain excellent standards of food safety, allergen management, hygiene, and health & safety compliance.
10. Support budgeting, ordering, stock control, stock rotation, and minimising food waste.
11. Assist with menu development, weekly specials, and seasonal dish creation.
12. Provide training, coaching, and ongoing development for junior chefs and kitchen team members.
13. Ensure Wilson Vale brand standards are consistently delivered while bringing creativity and flair to the food offer.

About the Role:

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.

14. 1 in 2 Saturdays or Sundays off during quieter periods
15. 1 in 3 Saturdays or Sundays off during busy periods
16. Overtime compensated with Time in Lieu
17. Two weeks annual leave over Christmas and New Year
18. One staff meal provided per shift
