United Autosports – McLaren Hypercar Programme
Full-time | Systems ownership | Global travel
If you’re an experienced systems engineer with a deep understanding of electronics, data architecture, car control systems, networks and trackside operational reliability — this is a flagship technical position in our Hypercar Programme.
About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll own the electronic, control, data and systems architecture of the Hypercar. You’ll ensure every system is validated, stable, compliant and optimised for performance and reliability.
You’ll be the technical authority for car systems — the person Race Engineering relies on for accurate information, fault resolution and real-time systems management.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Managing the full electronic and network architecture of the car.
* Ensuring all sensors, wiring looms, data channels and control systems are validated and reliable.
* Handling system configuration, calibration, mapping and software deployment.
* Fault-finding complex issues rapidly and accurately under pressure.
* Working with Performance Controls and Hybrid Engineers to align systems behaviour.
* Overseeing data acquisition systems, logging, scrutineering compliance and diagnostics.
* Running systems checklists pre-event, live and post-event.
* Producing systems documentation, mapping files, diagrams and updates.
What You’ll Bring
* Senior systems engineering experience within elite motorsport (WEC, F1, FE, LMDh).
* Deep knowledge of data systems, networks, electronics and car control.
* Ability to diagnose and resolve failures quickly and methodically.
* Calmness, clarity and exceptional communication under high pressure.
* A passion for detail, accuracy, quality and reliability.
You will be the brain behind the car’s intelligence — and the heartbeat of its reliability.
