Job overview
We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled CYP-IAPT Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner, with CAMHS experience and the ability and experience to work with young people and their families who are experiencing a wide variety of mild to moderate mental health difficulties that are impacting on their life. The clinician will need the ability to deliver high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people.
Main duties of the job
The role will encompass working with children and their families, teaching staff and relevant agencies involved with the child’s network. The practitioner will require the ability to provide appropriate intervention in-line with NICE Guidelines and utilise the relevant CYP-IAPT measures to ascertain the success of the intervention and agreed outcomes, as well as supporting and empowering children, young people and families to make informed choices about intervention and therapeutic strategies.
The practitioner should possess the skills to screen relevant referrals, undertake risk assessments, hold the capability to work under pressure, and will require exceptional engagement skills to work with young people and families within our education settings as well as within the community.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the ability to maintain a high standard of patient care and be professionally responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of the program of care provided. The applicant must have a high standard of record keeping and demonstrate user engagement and multi-agency involvement within the assessment process and the development of care planning.

The successful applicant will work in partnership with community organisations as well as schools/colleges to offer initiatives and interventions to young people to support their emotional health needs.

Criteria
Essential criteria
1. Children and Young People’s Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Qualification from accredited training provider
2. Experience of working with children and/or young people and families
3. Worked in a service where agreed targets in place to demonstrating outcomes
4. Must have the ability to undertake initial assessments and risk assessments autonomously
5. Must be able to travel across the Black Country easily
Desirable criteria
6. Psychology or other health /social care/youth related undergraduate degree
