Are you a Health & Safety Advisor looking to gain more responsibility or an experienced Health & Safety Manager who is commutable to Oxfordshire but looking for a better work-life balance and maybe reduce the amount you travel for work? This could be the perfect opportunity for you.
I am working with a heavy civil engineering specialist who are looking for an experienced health & safety professional who is able to look at current processes. Policies and procedures and look at what improvements can be made and continue to improve the company’s health & safety culture. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in heavy civil engineering and knowledge of auditing would be a distinct advantage.
The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for:
* Lead across all SHE compliance and strategy
* Provide accurate and on time reports for senior management with trends and provide a solution-based approach
* Review all current policies and procedures to identify areas for improvement
* Driven and enthusiastic individual with a passion for health & safety
* Lead by example in creating a positive health & safety culture
* Lead on accident investigations and near misses to identify root causes and implement improvement plans.
* Coach and mentor members of the SHE team to support them to reach their potential
The Health & Safety Manager will have:
* 3 years of experience working in health & safety
* Previous experience working in heavy civil engineering industry such as rail, highways, piling, groundworks or geotechnical work
* Hold a NEBOSH certificate minimum, ideally Diploma level or working towards.
* Driving license
* Happy to work in a position where coaching, mentoring and supporting other SHEQ professional to reach their potential
* Strong communicator and able to train and present to the internal team and external customers.
* Experience with auditing or RISQS audits would be a distinct advantage but not essential
