We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support a major port redevelopment project in Stanford-le-Hope. The successful candidate will play a key role in setting out works accurately, coordinating site activities, and managing subcontractors to ensure delivery in line with programme, quality, and safety standards.
** Freelance (CIS / self-employed – no limited company engagement)
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out precise setting out for civil and marine works
* Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
* Manage and coordinate subcontractors on site
* Ensure works are delivered in line with programme and deadlines
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
* Conduct site inspections and quality checks
* Keep accurate records, including as-built information and daily reports
* Liaise with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Site Engineer on infrastructure or port/marine projects
* Strong setting out skills using relevant equipment (e.g. GPS, total station)
* Experience managing subcontractors and site operations
* Good understanding of health & safety regulations
* Ability to work 12-hour shifts
* CSCS card (essential)
* Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
