Job Description
The key responsibilities of the Cost Accountant include:
3. Build and maintain product standard costs within SAP
4. Monitor actual vs standard costs, investigate variances, and provide insight
5. Produce weekly and monthly profitability and management reports
6. Optimise costing and margin analysis processes to improve accuracy and controls
7. Calculate and review machine hourly rates
8. Manage the capex process and fixed asset register
9. Support month-end management accounts preparation
10. Prepare stock provisions and oversee perpetual inventory counts
11. Lead and support stock takes, including variance analysis
12. Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits
13. Provide financial data to support budgeting and forecasting
14. Drive continuous improvement across cost accounting processes
15. Work cross-functionally with production, IT, and operational teams
The Successful Applicant
A successful Cost Accountant should have:
16. Proven experience in cost accounting within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
17. A strong understanding of financial principles and cost management.
18. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
19. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
20. A relevant qualification in accounting or finance.
21. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
