Summary of Role:
Our client is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Procurement Planner to join their vibrant team at their East Yorkshire manufacturing site. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting the organisation's next phase of growth! In this hands-on position, you will oversee procurement and supply chain activities, ensuring the company's growth demands are met. Duties:
As a Procurement Planner, you will:
Plan and manage material requirements to keep production schedules on track
Maintain precise planning data within the MRP system, monitoring key KPIs like OTIF and inventory turns
Collaborate with the production manager to create accurate production plans based on material, labour, and equipment availability
Manage sourcing and purchasing through the ERP/MRP system
Input B2B sales orders and coordinate closely with sales and finance teams
Implement contingency plans for supply chain security and risk management
Negotiate contracts with suppliers for favourable pricing and terms
analyse internal data to understand demand and supply chain requirements
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock counts with the warehouse team
Expedite deliveries to minimise impact on manufacturing plans
Continuously evaluate supplier performance and seek improvement opportunities
Oversee additional site purchasing and support new product development
Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess:
Be experienced in a Procurement role
A solid background in Manufacturing Planning
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication abilities
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
Proficiency in computer literacy, especially Excel
Knowledge of MRP systems is essential; e-commerce experience is a plus
