About the role We are currently recruiting for a Compliance & Audit Lead to join our Technical and Quality team. This is a pivotal role within the business, offering the opportunity to shape and deliver our compliance and audit strategy. In this role, you will plan and execute internal and supplier audits, manage risk-based audit programmes, and ensure full compliance with BRCGS standards and retailer Codes of Practice. You will also support HACCP reviews, maintain food safety plans, and lead TACCP/VACCP programmes to safeguard against food fraud and security risks. Acting as the primary technical contact for retailer compliance, you will ensure audit readiness and embed a culture of continuous improvement. Key responsibilities Audit & Compliance Leadership Plan, lead, and execute internal audits and supplier approval audits. Manage risk-based audit programmes to ensure compliance with BRCGS and retailer Codes of Practice. Act as the primary technical contact for retailer compliance and audit readiness. Food Safety & Risk Management Support HACCP reviews and maintain robust food safety plans. Lead TACCP/VACCP risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to protect against food fraud and security risks. Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for compliance issues. Continuous Improvement & Reporting Analyse compliance data and produce accurate reports to support decision-making. Identify opportunities for improvement across compliance systems and embed best practices. Coach and influence teams to strengthen compliance culture across all levels of the business. What you can bring to the role Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG technical, compliance, or auditing roles. Proven track record of managing audit programmes and supplier approval processes. Hands-on experience with retailer standards and technical portals. Strong background in food safety, legality, and quality systems, including HACCP and food defence. Expert knowledge of BRCGS standards and retailer technical requirements. Skilled in risk assessment, CAPA, and compliance reporting. Excellent communication and influencing skills. Leadership and coaching ability to embed compliance culture.
