Location: Birmingham Salary: MPS/UPS (Main pay scale) Contract Type: Full-time We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and motivated Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a Key Stage 1 practitioner who is passionate about supporting pupils as they consolidate their learning and prepare for Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Year 2 class and deliver high-quality teaching across the National Curriculum. You will plan engaging, well-structured lessons that develop pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and broader curriculum skills while supporting their social, emotional, and personal development. Establishing a nurturing yet structured classroom environment will be central to your role. You will use assessment effectively to track progress, identify next steps, and implement targeted interventions where needed. Differentiation will ensure all pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, or additional needs, are supported to achieve their full potential. Collaboration is key. You will work closely with teaching assistants and other Key Stage 1 colleagues to provide consistent support and maintain high expectations. Building strong relationships with parents and carers is also important, helping them engage positively with their child’s learning journey. This role is suitable for Early Career Teachers and experienced teachers. ECTs will receive structured induction and mentoring, while experienced practitioners will be encouraged to share expertise and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
