Element is hiring a Senior Cyber Engineer
Element is seeking a Senior Cyber Engineer to join our growing Cyber Engineering Services team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in security engineering, responsible for securing complex global environments and designing security solutions at scale, with expertise in application, cloud, and infrastructure domains.
This hybrid role involves designing and implementing highly secure technical solutions to defend against cyber threats and potential attacks, focusing on detection engineering within Element's security tooling.
Core Responsibilities
1. Assist in designing and implementing technical solutions and security tools to address vulnerabilities, mitigate threats, and automate tasks.
2. Plan, implement, and manage the security operations tooling roadmap.
3. Engineer, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade cybersecurity infrastructure and technologies.
4. Create and maintain detection rules to identify suspicious activities and threats.
5. Develop and optimize SIEM event correlation rules to reduce false positives and improve security event filtering.
6. Support the transition of projects into operational services.
7. Develop new security toolsets for vulnerability mitigation and automation.
8. Ensure documentation and procedures are up-to-date and compliant with standards.
9. Conduct security checks, troubleshooting, and incident response support.
10. Maintain standard operating procedures and collaborate with the Cyber Defence team.
11. Assist in operational and management reporting.
Skills / Qualifications
1. Self-motivated with a positive attitude, believing in 'Security as an enabler'.
2. Strong intellectual agility and adaptability across business contexts.
3. Expertise in at least one security domain: Platform Protection, Network Architecture, or Cloud Security.
4. Ability to review and contribute to designs, reports, and standards confidently.
5. Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical info to non-technical audiences.
6. Knowledge of the latest security principles, techniques, and trends.
7. Experience with networking in multi-site, multinational environments.
8. Experience with security technologies like NDR, FW, IPS, IDS, DDoS, EDR/MDR, DAST/SAST, IAM, SIEM, SOAR, log management.
9. Experience in cyber defense operations and as a Cyber Security Engineer, with potential background as a Network or Server Engineer.
10. Experience working internationally and in multicultural settings.
11. Proactive communication skills and ability to interact across organizational levels.
12. Interest or experience in working within complex, federated organizations, infrastructure, or application support.
