Overview
Pinetree Lodge supports older adults with a diagnosis of dementia who have behaviours that challenge and may be unable to live in the wider community. Our team undertakes assessments to provide person-centred therapeutic interventions to minimize risks associated with these behaviours. We believe in providing good care to people with dementia and their families, supporting the idea that a person with dementia can live a good quality and meaningful life with the right help.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you possess the following:
* Are an NMC registered Mental Health Nurse, General Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse with a valid Pin.
* We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses, or those nearing completion of their course.
* Experience of working with people who have complex mental health problems and who can present with behaviours that challenge.
* Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Possess a genuine desire to care for this client group and can appreciate that all service users are individuals and take a person-centred approach in your work.
* Demonstrate an empathic attitude and keep our values at the heart of your work.
* Flexibility – shift patterns include weekends and nights; you may need to work at either service based on service needs.
Job Responsibilities
As the post holder you will be responsible for efficiently co-ordinating and controlling day-to-day care and procedures in conjunction with, and in the absence of, the Service Manager / Clinical Lead, providing leadership to a team of support workers. You will work with families and other carers to assess client need, develop support plans and implement planned interventions. You must be able to adapt your approach to fit the needs of the individual and recognise and promote positive risk taking. Skill maintenance is a key aim for this client group and you must be positive and empowering in this area. The post holder will ensure that services are provided in a way that is consistent with our values, supporting and promoting an organisational culture that values innovation, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.

Job Description

Qualifications
* Essential: NMC - Registered Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse, with a valid Pin.
* Experience with dementia and/or behaviours that challenge.
* Good clinical assessment skills and knowledge of safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act, and recovery-focused outcomes.
* Strong IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
