Year 5 Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)
Monday – Friday | 7:30am – 1:30pm
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and supportive Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join our lovely school community near Garstang.
This role is Monday to Friday, working 7:30am–1:30pm, starting 23rd February 2026, for a fixed term of 12 months, with the view to transferring onto a school contract.
About the Role
This is an academic support role, where the successful candidate will:
Act as the main Teaching Assistant within a Year 5 classroom for the mornings
Support and help deliver the school’s Breakfast Club provision each morning (7:30am start)
Provide high-quality classroom support to enhance teaching and learning
Support pupils individually and in small groups, including targeted interventions
Help create a positive, inclusive and well-structured learning environment
Work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team to support pupil progress and attainment
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience working with children in KS2 (Year 5 experience desirable)
Is reliable, organised and confident in supporting early-morning provision
Is patient, proactive and committed to supporting children’s learning
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Is supportive of the ethos and values of our faith school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
