As an ITAR‑regulated site, we work on mission‑critical solutions, meaning eligibility for Security Clearance is required.
What You’ll Do
* Design electro‑mechanical assemblies, including enclosures, looms/wiring harnesses, and PCB assemblies using 3D CAD modeling.
* Ensure compliance with aerospace standards such as EWIS, EMC, IPC manufacturing guidelines, and manufacturability/testability principles.
* Generate and manage engineering drawings, applying configuration control tools (e.g., PTC Windchill) to ensure design integrity.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and lead engineering change requests.
* Apply advanced problem‑solving tools, including Design for Six Sigma and Lean methodologies, to optimize performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead electrical and electromechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
* Act as a technical consultant, providing expertise to improve manufacturing processes.
* Mentor junior engineers, guiding them through design principles and industry best practices.
* Manage complex engineering projects, applying Lean methodologies to optimize performance.
* Ensure engineering change requests are thoroughly justified and effectively implemented.
* Apply problem‑solving tools such as Design for Six Sigma to streamline aerospace design challenges.
* Drive innovation, contributing to intellectual property and technical publications.
Skills Required
Essential Skills & Tools
* 3D Modeling & Technical Drawings – Expertise in PTC CREO for creating and refining complex designs.
* Configuration Management – Proficiency in tools like PTC Windchill to ensure accuracy and version control.
* Safety‑Focused Design Thinking – Ability to integrate safety considerations into engineering solutions.
* Task & Workflow Management – Skilled in managing outsourced work packages efficiently.
* Clear Technical Communication – Strong ability to justify and analyze engineering changes with clarity.
Desirable Skills & Tools
* Loom Design & Electrical Harnessing – Experience using TE Connectivity Hardware in Microsoft Visio.
* Precision Drawing Review – Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu for detailed drawing verification.
* Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Knowledge – Understanding CADSTAR for PCB‑related data analysis.
* Advanced Quality Planning – Background in APQP to drive process improvement.
* Failure Mode Analysis – Proficiency in DFMEA for identifying and mitigating design risks.
* Mechanical Design Expertise.
