We offer an exciting opportunity to lead the strategic planning and business management of the largest digital transformation within the Environment & Business directorate. The Regulatory Services Programme is responsible for delivering digital services that will revolutionize environmental regulation.
You will play a key role within the Programme Management Office (PMO), providing crucial input into financial and business management to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure value for money, aligning with the business case.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex financial data and collaborating across teams to maximize value and influence investment decisions.
Key tasks include:
1. Understanding the financial and economic basis of the Programme’s business case and funding bids.
2. Ensuring programme deliverables meet strategic objectives and managing change control processes.
3. Supporting the Programme Manager in managing changes related to Time, Cost, and Quality, ensuring affordability and value for money.
4. Managing stakeholder queries and delivering comprehensive programme reports, including financial tracking across EA, Defra, and external suppliers.
5. Assisting with investment and funding activities alongside the Programme Manager and Director.
6. Ensuring compliance with governance and assurance standards.
7. Supporting business management through lifecycle cost allocations.
Team overview:
The Digital, Innovation, and Programmes team is responsible for implementing the Digital Strategy across E&B, shaping digital services that are efficient, user-friendly, and innovative. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, shared services, and third-party suppliers to deliver these objectives.
Essential/Beneficial Experience and Skills:
* Experience in fast-paced, dynamic programme environments.
* Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, SharePoint, PowerBI, etc.).
* Experience managing complex financial information.
* Understanding of organizational financial, business planning, and budgeting processes.
* Experience with business cases, approval routes, and change control within EA and Defra.
* Knowledge of governance around spend control and assurance processes.
* Proven ability to lead work areas, engage stakeholders, and drive innovation.
