No News No Shoes Ltd (NNNS) is a family owned tour operator that is now in its 21st year of operation. The company started as a specialist provider of holidays to the Maldives but has since expanded to offer India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and other countries in Southeast Asia and, most recently, the Caribbean. NNNS offers high levels of customer service, delivering bespoke itineraries based on personal experiences. The office is located in the centre of the market town of Morpeth in Northumberland, which has good rail and bus connections from Newcastle. NNNS also has staff working in London, Kent, Delhi - India and Sao Paulo - Brazil. Consideration will be given to remote working arrangements.
Role:
We are currently looking for an Indian Subcontinent / Indian Ocean specialist travel consultant to join our team. Previous experience working for a tour operator and selling our destinations is essential.
Responsibilities:
• Dealing with enquiries by telephone and email
• Identifying and meeting customers' needs by providing exceptional customer service at all times
• Creating itineraries tailored to specific customer needs
• Liaising with our local partners to obtain availability and pricing
• Preparing holiday quotations for customers using our digital system
• Liaising with clients at various stages of the quotation process
• Confirming bookings, holding flights and preparing customer invoices
• Processing bookings, finalising tours to ensure everything is in place
• Following up on feedback post-trip
• Maintaining customer records
• Supporting website maintenance and development to ensure our products are marketed professionally and effectively
• Supporting social media campaigns to promote offers, generate customer engagement and sales leads
• Assisting with development of tours
• Participate in promotional events and activities
• Effectively perform administrative duties
• Willingness to participate in training appropriate to own development
Person Specification:
A dynamic individual with a can do attitude, solid sales record and passion for travel. Happy working independently whilst also contributing to the team.
Skills & Experience Required:
• Past experience selling the Indian Subcontinent / Indian Ocean with a tour operator
• Excellent product knowledge, particularly of India, and ideally of Sri Lanka and the Maldives
• Proven sales track record with good conversion rate
• Comfortable working towards sales targets
• Attention to detail is vital
• Ability to follow through with all aspects of the holiday arrangements
• A pleasant telephone manner is essential and the ability to create well worded emails
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use own initiative
• Passionate about customer care
