Offer description

Your next opportunity

Grahams Road Veterinary Clinic is a welcoming small animal first opinion practice located in the heart of the historic town of Falkirk. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our close-knit team on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in caring for pets across the central belt while working within a supportive and collaborative environment.

You’ll be part of a small team delivering high standards of clinical care, managing a varied first opinion caseload and building strong relationships with clients and their pets. Clinical duties include consultations and surgery, with vets operating on a rotational basis and dedicated surgical time built into the week. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, values continuity of care, and is committed to maintaining excellent patient and client outcomes.

Find your perfect work/life balance

We believe in the importance of supporting our team’s well‑being, which is why we offer flexible rota patterns and working hours to fit your lifestyle, no matter where you are in your career.

This is a part‑time role working between 12 and 25 hours per week across 2 to 4 days, with flexibility available to tailor the schedule around the right candidate. Our working day runs from 8:30am to 6:30pm, and we are happy to shape the working pattern wherever possible to suit individual needs. The role includes a 1 in 8 Saturday morning rota from 8am to 12pm, consulting only. There is no out‑of‑hours commitment and no on‑call requirements, supporting a healthy and sustainable work‑life balance.

Meet like‑minded professionals

Grahams Road Veterinary Clinic is a well‑equipped practice designed to support high‑quality first opinion care. Our facilities include a fully equipped in‑house laboratory, digital X‑ray, ultrasound, and a dedicated theatre. The practice operates with a collaborative approach, with vets supporting each other across consulting and surgical work to deliver the best possible outcomes for patients.

As a smaller team, communication is open, supportive, and genuinely collaborative. Everyone plays an important role in maintaining high clinical standards and delivering a friendly, personal service to clients.

Find a place to grow

Based in Falkirk, our practice sits at the centre of Scotland’s central belt, offering excellent transport links to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Falkirk is a historic town with plenty to explore locally, including green spaces, canals, and cultural landmarks, while still providing easy access to Scotland’s cities and countryside.

We are proud to care for the pets of our local community and value the strong relationships we build with clients. Our culture is supportive, friendly, and team‑focused, creating an environment where people feel valued and able to do their best work.
