About the role
Responsibilities
* Cards specialist – Provide 2LoD support and act as the SME for Compliance on cards/ cards scheme rules (Mastercard and Visa)
* New customer Onboarding Due Diligence – offer expert knowledge and insights to 1LoD in order to improve processes and controls and support LT/ Outsource service provider to ensure due diligence standards are met and improved upon. Act as 2LoD counterpoint and ultimately ensure that 2LoD testing over the 1LoD is undertaken.
* Oversight/ Supervision specialist – build and roll-out Agent/ Distributor/ Intermediary oversight framework and perform reviews directly with clients, and drive building this out in the 1LoD. Assume ownership and manage this sub-function within 2LoD and engage with 1LoD, outsourced service providers, other internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate
* Policies and Procedures – take ownership of document library and provide co-ordination, ongoing review, and overall oversight to ensure the firm policies and procedures are fit-for-purpose, remain updated and reflect the latest regulatory analysis and amendments, including regulatory ‘horizon scanning’ and assistance and engagement with stakeholders in analysing and interpreting regulations and their impact on B4B
* Framework/ governance enhancements – provide input and assistance in the development of a robust governance structure for B4B (drafting TORs, advising on governance arrangements, assisting in establishing or enhancing committees, forums, reporting, etc)
* Act as a senior point of contact for: compliance-related queries from the business (Sales, Account Management, Product, etc), assessing new/ proposed business models and fund-flows (supporting Sales in initial calls), assisting on investigations (especially financial crime), Transaction Monitoring and Fraud, SARs, Sanctions, supporting on enterprise wide risk assessment, 2LoD Training (internally for Compliance and firm-wide)
* Help build-out and improve Compliance MI
Requirement
Essential (Need to have)
* Acted as Compliance Officer within Second Line of Defence, able to act independently and provide specialist advice on a broad-range of regulatory topics. Ideally 5-10 years experience within Compliance teams, last 2+ years in senior capacity
* Fintech experience, preferably 3+ years within firms with EMI licence, ideally in UK and Lithuania
* Specialist knowledge - from 2LoD perspective - of 3+ of the following: Cards/ scheme rules; Customer Onboarding Due Diligence; Oversight/ Supervision of Agents/ Distributors; Sanctions; Transaction Monitoring; Risk Assessments; Governance; Advising internal functions (such as Sales); controls framework design; process engineering
* Articulate, strong writing and review skills for complex and lengthy materials, self-reliant, ability to ‘push back’ as necessary
* Can-do’ and helpful attitude, work collaboratively to find best outcomes for B4B
