Hays Education is excited to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 & 2 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Bristol. This full-time role offers the opportunity to support students in Key Stage 1 & 2 (ages 4-11), helping them thrive academically and socially. You will work alongside teachers to create an inspiring and inclusive learning environment, providing targeted support to help students achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons for KS1 & 2 students.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with their academic work and addressing individual learning needs.
* Support students in developing their literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
* Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, focused learning environment.
* Observe and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers to help tailor future lessons.
* Assist in preparing learning materials, activities, and resources.
* Support children with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring inclusion and personal development.
* Build strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff to foster a supportive and collaborative learning community.
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary or educational setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach to working with students.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
* Enhanced DBS check (Hays can assist with this if needed).
* Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, but not essential.
