Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) ready to take the next step in your education career? We are seeking skilled and passionate HLTAs to support SEN and SEMH schools across Surrey, starting from September 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity to join specialist settings supporting children and young people with a wide range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, trauma, and complex learning difficulties.
About the Role:
Support teaching and learning across the curriculum in small groups or 1:1
Deliver pre-planned lessons and interventions in the absence of the teacher
Assist with planning, preparation, and assessment under the guidance of the SENCO or class teacher
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Be a consistent, supportive adult for vulnerable pupils
We’re Looking For:
HLTA qualification or equivalent (Level 4 or above)
Proven experience working within SEN or SEMH environments is desirable but not essential
Confident in delivering learning activities and managing behaviour
Strong understanding of safeguarding, SEND, and behaviour support strategies
Empathetic, proactive, and able to build trust with students and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
