Spire Harpenden Hospital has an opportunity available for a Housekeeper to join our established team on a permanent contract. You would be responsible to ensure we are compliant will infection prevention and ensuring our state of the art facilities remain pristine at all times. Duties and responsibilities
1. With a strong focus on Customer Service and providing a friendly ear to patients during what can sometimes be a particularly unsettling time, our team of Housekeepers provide a vital service in our Hospital.
2. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining our high standards of cleanliness within our fantastic hospital.
3. This will include our Wards, Offices and Reception and you will ensure our beds are turned around in preparation for new patients in a timely manner.
4. Complete cleaning schedules related to the shift, ensuring rooms are ready set to the correct layout as needed and both offices and public areas are clean.
5. To work in close liaison with the clinical staff dealing with the varying needs of the hospital
6. Compliance with all Health and Safety at Work Regulations including COSHH.
7. Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.
Who we're looking for
8. You will ideally have experience in a cleaning capacity within a commercial or domestic environment but this is not essential.
9. Knowledge of infection control within a hospital would be beneficial, however, is not essential
10. Someone with a great work ethic who excels in customer service
11. No formal qualifications are required you must be able to communicate with other members of staff and patients clearly and your personal appearance must be of a high standard, expected in a professional healthcare environment.
12. Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative with a methodical approach to work.
