Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Providing information and support to enable people, groups and communities to access universal services, commission a range of services designed to minimise risks, and improve the quality of life for individuals, families, carers/carer groups and communities.
* Balancing needs and risks with rights and choices, taking account of power differences and promoting positive outcomes for individuals, families and carers.
* Accurately recording and critically analysing information, following organisational policies and meeting organisational responsibilities for safeguarding.
* Undertaking statutory duties relating to safeguarding concerns.
* Maintaining and updating case notes and other records, preparing statements or reports for, attending and giving evidence in court in care proceedings, private law cases and adoption proceedings as appropriate.
* Developing expertise in one or more areas of practice, and familiar with local resources and be recognised by peers as a source of reliable knowledge and advice.
* Working independently and demonstrating an ability to adapt an approach to more complex cases.
* Undertaking preventative work with children and families in order to reduce the need for care or accommodation and a range of community care and safeguarding assessments in accordance with relevant statutory requirements, identifying risks needs and options.
Requirements:
* Registration with Social Work England and HCPC.
* Relevant post-qualifying / vocational training.
* Proven experience working with carers.
* Ability to demonstrate experience across a range of statutory work.
* Experience of working with vulnerable individuals and families.
* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a range of people including families and professionals.
* Awareness of current practice issues and challenges facing Social Workers.
* Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
* Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
