An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Business Officer to join the Business Operations Team within Hampshire Engineering Services (HES) at Hampshire County Council.

The Role:
As Senior Business Officer, you will provide specialist financial analysis, commercial insight and coordination to support Hampshire Engineering Services budget holders across project and service commissions. Working closely with the Business Manager and senior colleagues, you will take day to day operational responsibility for S278/S38 Highway Development Agreement financial workflows, ensuring robust financial control, reconciliations, data integrity and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
What you’ll do:
Working closely with the Business Manager and senior colleagues, you will deliver high quality financial reporting, support quarter and year end processes, and produce clear insights that strengthen governance, value for money and service resilience. You will also coordinate and mentor colleagues within the business support function and lead small, targeted financial or process improvement initiatives.
This is a varied and influential role that directly supports financial governance, traded income activity and the long term sustainability of Hampshire Engineering Services.
