Finance Director – International Operations – East Midlands (Hybrid)
Robert Half is partnering with a market-leading international group to recruit a Finance Director into a high-profile leadership position supporting its global operations.
This is a broad, senior role sitting within the wider group structure, with significant exposure to executive stakeholders and responsibility for finance across several overseas territories. The remit combines strategic leadership, operational oversight and strong financial control within a complex, multi-entity environment.
The Opportunity
This position has oversight of finance activity across multiple countries and will lead a team of senior finance professionals operating across different jurisdictions. You will be responsible for ensuring consistent financial performance, governance and commercial insight across the international portfolio.
Core areas of responsibility include:
* Providing strategic financial leadership to regional finance heads and country controllers
* Leading the annual planning cycle, quarterly forecasting and long-term strategic modelling across international entities
* Delivering robust management information and performance analysis to senior leadership
* Maintaining strong financial control frameworks, ensuring compliance with local and group requirements
* Partnering with Group Tax and external advisors on international tax and regulatory matters
* Supporting contract negotiations, pricing strategy and capital allocation decisions
* Acting as a key contact for auditors and group finance stakeholders
* Driving enhancements in reporting, systems integration and process efficiency
* Contributing to global transformation programmes and growth initiatives
The Individual
This role will appeal to a commercially minded Finance Director who thrives in an international, multi-site setting and is comfortable operating within a matrix structure.
You will bring:
* A technically strong accounting foundation combined with commercial acumen
* Experience at Finance Director, Regional Finance Lead or similar level
* A track record of leading geographically dispersed teams
* Exposure to statutory reporting, international compliance and cross-border governance
* The ability to influence senior operational leaders and provide constructive challenge
* Experience within complex, contract-driven or regulated businesses
* A balanced leadership style – strategic in thinking but hands-on when required
Profile Requirements
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Extensive post-qualified experience in senior finance roles
* International exposure preferred
* Willingness to travel periodically
* East Midlands base with regular presence in the office
