About the Role
Adult Neurodevelopmental Practitioner – Croydon locality, part of the Assessment and Liaison and Community Mental Health Teams at Go Back South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for a practitioner with a passion for working with adults who have neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism, ADHD and learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct specialist Autistic Spectrum Diagnostic clinical assessments.
* Deliver specialist interventions, assessments, treatment, planning and monitoring tailored to neurodevelopmental disorders.
* Provide expert consultation to A&L and CMHT team members on autism, ADHD and learning disabilities.
* Help develop and implement a stepped‑care pathway for people presenting with neurodevelopmental disorders.
* Supply clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate.
* Promote service evaluation, audit and research to improve outcomes.
* Offer training to mainstream services and other professionals.
* Maintain professional standards and CPD according to Trust and professional body guidelines.
* Travel to home visits, community placements and meetings across the Trust when required.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Pharmacy, Psychology or equivalent.
* Registered with the appropriate professional body (e.g., HCPC, RCN).
* Experience in cognitive behavioural therapy or equivalent therapeutic modalities.
* Non‑medical prescriber status (preferred).

* Working with adults who have neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Assessment and treatment of complex psychological needs.
* Experience in multicultural settings and addressing diversity within local communities.
* Audit or research project experience.
* Risk and safety management in a clinical setting.
* Multi‑disciplinary team working and supervising junior colleagues.
* Community‑based service provision.
Knowledge
* Psychopathology and evidence‑based approaches to neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Learning Disability and Autism Programme, including Transforming Care.
* Legislation relating to mental health, child and adult protection, equalities and safeguarding.
* Factors affecting accessibility of mental health care.
* Complex data analysis for assessments and interventions.
* Theoretical and practical knowledge of therapeutic models and systemic approaches.
Skills
* Effective communication with clients, carers and colleagues, overcoming barriers.
* Planning, scheduling and coordinating assessments and interventions.
* IT skills for data entry, research and presentation.
* Teaching and training other professional groups.
* Consultation skills within a multi‑professional team.
* Interpreting and integrating complex data for assessment outcomes.

Salary
£53,751 to £60,651 a year, plus outer HCAs.
