Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to clients in various care settings, including home care, assisted living, nursing homes, and hospice environments. Duties
* Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
* Administer medication in accordance with prescribed care plans and medical instructions
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
* Support clients with light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean environment
* Monitor and document client health status, behaviour, and progress as part of case management
* Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
* Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times
* Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, maintaining safe driving practices
* Follow established care plans and adapt approaches based on individual needs and conditions such as Alzheimer's or dementia
Skills
* Proven experience in senior care, dementia care or hospice environments is highly desirable
* Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
* First aid certification is essential; additional training in nursing home or care home settings is advantageous
* Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques for patients with cognitive impairments
* Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and manage physically demanding tasks
* Organised with the ability to follow detailed care plans accurately
* Valid driving licence for transportation duties; good driving record required
* Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others
