Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to lead and manage the company's compliance across quality, environmental, health & safety, information security, and data protection standards. This individual will be instrumental in obtaining and maintaining certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, and accreditation with SafeContractor, Constructionline, and Avetta. The role will also involve handling Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), supporting Health & Safety and HR functions, and overseeing all aspects of GDPR and data protection compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation, management, and maintenance of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 27001 certification processes.
* Oversee accreditation renewals for SafeContractor, Constructionline, and Avetta.
* Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of non-conformities.
* Develop and maintain Integrated Management Systems (IMS) documentation and controls.
* Complete and submit PQQs and client-specific compliance documentation for construction and public sector tenders.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date company information on client compliance portals.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal health and safety matters.
* Develop and review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and H&S policies.Ensure H&S compliance across projects, coordinating with project and site managers.
* Act as point of contact for HR queries including policies, procedures, disciplinary matters, and employee wellbeing, utilising our HR advice consultants
* Ensure company HR policies are up-to-date and legally compliant.
* Support the onboarding and training processes for new staff.
* Act as the company's Data Protection Officer (DPO), managing GDPR compliance.
* Maintain data protection policies, registers, and training records.
* Investigate and report any data breaches or subject access requests (SARs).
* Assist with management of outsourced virtual DPO service.
Skills and Person Specification
* Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role, ideally in construction or related industries.
* Understanding of ISO management systems (9001, 14001, 45001,
* Familiarity with accreditation platforms such as SafeContractor, Avetta, and Constructionline desirable but not essential.
* Experience with health & safety legislation and best practices.
* Working knowledge of GDPR and data protection legislation.
* HR experience desirable but not essential.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
