Our client is a leading defendant firm and recognised top UK employer with offices across the nation. They are currently recruiting for multiple solicitors (NQ-3 PQE) to join their Police Claims team in Manchester, Liverpool or Leicester. This is a retrain opportunity for strong candidates with experience handling their own civil litigation caseload. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 2–3 days a week in the office.
Your new role
This Police Claims Solicitor role will see you:
1. Represent multiple police forces.
2. Handle a diverse caseload of pre-litigated and litigated civil malfeasance claims, including false imprisonment, trespass, malicious prosecution, and Human Rights Act matters as well as employer’s liability claims.
3. Support senior team members on moreplex civil claims brought against the police.
4. Collaborate with the Team Manager and colleagues on client relationship development, training initiatives, and networking opportunities.
5. Maintain control of your diary and task lists, ensuringpliance with client MI reporting procedures.
6. Attend and represent clients at court hearings, including undertaking advocacy where appropriate.
7. Deliver high standards of client care in line with firm policies and client expectations.
8. Meet financial performance targets, including chargeable hours.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a qualified solicitor with 0–3 years PQE. You must have experience handling your own caseload of civil litigation claims. Defendant civil litigation experience is preferable but those with strong claimant experience will also be considered. Police law experience is preferable but not essential. Applicants must have strong academics and excellentmunication and organisational skills.
